What is osf.bike?

osf.bike is free, open-source firmware for the TSDZ2B e-bike motor and the displays that go with it. Because the code is open, you can read it, tweak it, and install updates yourself.

No paid app, no account, no vendor lock-in, no black box - and it’s maintained by the people actually riding bikes with it.

What's a TSDZ2B?

The TSDZ2B is a torque-sensing electric motor that bolts onto a regular bike and turns it into a pedal-assist e-bike. Torque-sensing means the motor measures how hard you push on the pedals and scales its help to match - push harder and it pushes back harder, and it does nothing while you coast. It's the motor this firmware runs on; see the FAQ for more.

A dashboard, reimagined

The 860C display gets a fresh face: a cleaner layout for speed, battery, and assist level, a live graph of your ride, and trip and total-mile tracking - all on the same display you already have.

And this isn’t a mockup. It’s the actual software that goes into the display, shown here with a simulated ride, so what you see is what you get.

Flash from your browser. No installs.

The web configurator does the whole job in your browser. Back up your current settings, tune how your motor, battery, and riding modes behave, and install the new software - nothing to download, nothing to install. When it’s done, you ride. Open the configurator →
The web configurator's motor settings page, where you tune how the motor behaves

Tune it to fit your ride

How hard the motor helps is up to you. Pick the kind of assist you want - react to how hard you push the pedals, or to how fast you’re turning them - and set how strong each of the five assist levels should be, from a battery-sipping ECO to a full-throttle TURBO.

Every setting is a plain, labeled number, and your finished setup saves as a profile you can load back any time.

Joy, back on the pedals

Because the motor carries the weight, that long climb you’ve been steering around for months is just another road - and the view from the top is yours.

Faster to work, farther on a weekend, and hills that used to mean “not today” now just mean up we go. Steep is a state of mind, and with the right amount of help, every route is open to you.
